LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

They fought for us, now we fight for them.

KPM Leadership Academy Veterans Program

Every day brave men and women raise their right hand and make the commitment to protect our country through military service. One of the greatest challenges facing this demographic today is the complex transition back into civilian life.

We had an interview on television. Watch it here! (paste more content here)

A large majority of veterans encounter culture shock upon discharge from service; often resulting in a myriad of social, economic, and emotional struggles. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics currently, there are about 180,000 veterans in our jails and prisons across the United States.   There are 8,200 veterans alone in the state of Texas. Due to the lack of support and economic stability for these veterans, it has resulted in a misfortunate path to incarceration.

The Leadership Academy has been active in reaching out to those justice involved veterans who have selflessly served our country. Kent and Priscilla have a heart for the veterans because both of their father's served as U.S. Marines.  As you know, freedom is not free, it comes with a price.  Many of our soldiers come back from war, but regretfully the war comes back with them. They carry not only physical wounds, but wounds that can not be seen. These wounds for some, unfortunately lead to a road of destruction.

The KPM Leadership Academy is working closely with prisons to bring veterans the best evidence-based cognitive behavioral and leadership curriculum.  This curriculum  addresses PTSD, personal development, mindset shifts, entrepreneurship and much more.

Through the academy we are working with veterans, both inside and outside of the criminal justice system, to address their unique challenges.  Our goal is to rehabilitate and reinstate these men and women as successful leaders and contributors to their families, workplaces, and communities.

Our strategy is to give veterans purpose in prison.  We are doing this by raising up veteran leaders behind the wire to reach the non-veteran population within the prison system.  These veterans are earning the right to become coaches within the Leadership  Academy.  They are reaching out to the general population within the entire prison with leadership training and group coaching.  These veterans are becoming the leaders that they were meant to be and this is drastically changing the climate within the prison culture.
