Equipping Leaders Around the World

The greatness of a leader is not measured by the amount of achievements or accomplishments they attain, but the success is proven by the value they add to those they lead. Kenton Pate Ministries is now adding value and EQUIPPING leaders in the Texas prisons! On June 7, 2019 we launched our first KPM Leadership Academy within the Carol S. Vance Correctional Facility located in Richmond,Texas. This unit is unique in the fact that it is a faith based correctional facility.

The KPM Leadership Academy is a holistic life transformation and pre-release re-integration program. We are piloting the curriculum "Beyond Success" by John C. Maxwell, which is designed to instill principles of personal development and growth through a roundtable training format. In the training, the men have an opportunity to learn and discuss subjects that are key to their success, such as integrity, priorities, attitude and relationships. This powerful style of training is providing an opportunity for inmates to be transparent while sharing their experiences in a real authentic way. They open up, humble themselves, listen to others and this allows them all to grow together. They also have an opportunity to hear about the most important relationship and that is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

This model has proven to be highly effective and the program is making a huge impact. After the initial training of the facilitators the word began to spread throughout the prison. Each facilitator prayerfully chose three to four people to be a part of the class. Participants were only allowed to attend if they had been personally invited by a facilitator. It didn’t take long and the class multiplied from twelve round table facilitators to a class of fifty-four participants. Our hearts are full as we see leaders being transformed and lives being dramatically changed. We graduated this class at the end of September, and we have already trained the next generation of round table facilitators. We are now prepared to launch the second “Beyond Success” class in mid-October. We also will be launching our “Next Level” pilot program for those who have successfully graduated "Beyond Success." The participants will use the same roundtable model but will begin the 15 Invaluable Laws of Growth Curriculum as they continue on this journey of growth and transformation.
